The Lights We Shed Shall Burn Your Eyes

Although I’m not much of a post rock fan, a Malaysian band I do enjoy watching live that peddles the genre is Deepset. So I was quite excited to finally hear their recorded work. Maybe it’s just me, but I remember being quite taken with their songs whenever I saw them live but as evidenced by this recording, it’s just nowhere near as exciting. Maybe it’s the ultra-clean recording that somehow still feels “hollow”, whatever the reasons for the weak low-end and drum sound are. A shame though, as they really are great to watch live.
