What was your big break up song during your worst break up?
There isn’t any special break up song that I can remember. I spent most of my time talking over the phone, going out for teh tarik and did a lot of thinking too. My poor buddies had to endure the mental harassment.
What was the first music video you recall watching that fascinated you?
Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’. I remember I was still in my primary school when I first saw this long and eerie music video. It was the dance moves and the scary makeup that caught my attention. I like scary stuff.
Who was your first music celebrity crush?
When I was still a kid I was very fond of [Hong Kong Cantopop singer] Sally Yeh. She has that sweet voice and innocent look, and she always appeared in my dreams!
What song is currently stuck in your head and why?
‘Sunset (Original Mix)’ by Leng, because “he” really needs to finish the song.
Who do you have the best conversations with about music?
Nicky C is the man when it comes to music. Being one of the veterans in the local dance music scene, I believe he has done a great job in promoting dance music and helping out aspiring newcomers with commercial releases.
What is your most musical prized possession?
It would be my Vestax VCI-100 DJ Midi Controller.
What’s the greatest advice you’ve been given about music?
“Just keep at it; you will reach there someday.”
What five songs can you sing by heart?
‘Negaraku’ [Malaysia’s national anthem].
What was the “it” song for you when you were in high school/college?
It has got to be Jacky Cheung’s ‘Goodbye Kiss’. Everyone knew the song; even my Sikh classmate knew how to sing it!
