The story we previously ran:
Shock shock horror horror. A Nine Inch Nails-themed application for the iPhone was rejected by Apple because it contained potentially offensive content. Trent Reznor, frontman for Nine Inch Nails, published the e-mail he received from Apple’s iPhone developer on the band’s website. The application was rejected because it offered a streaming version of ‘The Downward Spiral', which Apple said was "objectionable content". Reznor said on the website that although he loved Apple products, he urged them to "think [their] policies through".
But we just found out that Apple have decided to make an about-turn and run the app after all, without even removing the "offensive" song in question. No comment from them, naturally.
