This gig is not happening in this part of the world, but it may be of interest to you if you’re planning on heading South in July (an odd choice, seeing as you’d be going against avian wisdom and flying into winter). A Malaysian student body in the University of New South Wales, Kelab UMNO New South Wales (KUNSW), are organising a charity gig called With Love, Down Under.
The objective of the charity gig is to raise money for the orphanage Pertubuhan Penyayang Raudah. With Love, Down Under is also partly organised by the Malaysian Students Organisation (MSO) and other Kelab UMNOs in Australia.
As Erina Zahara Ellias, the event director of With Love, Down Under, states: “Even though we are far away from home, we want to let our home people know that we still care. We would also like to increase awareness amongst the young Malaysians abroad of the importance of contributing back to their society.”
With Love, Down Under Charity Gig will feature bands from around Australia, art exhibitions and short film screenings. The event will also indirectly function as a battle of the bands between various Malaysian-led student bands in Australia.
The organisers of With Love, Down Under appeal for donations from the generous hearts of Malaysians to help them achieve their mission and passion to help the unfortunate.
Update (16 June): Previously there were rumours that Estranged were going to play at With Love Down Under. They can't make it, but the organisers have scored Flop Poppy for the charity gig instead!

yerp.I used to think like karpal too before I joined the umno club here. but clearly i was wrong. kami tiada kna mngena dgn aktiviti2 politik di malaysia yg semakin teruk sekarang ini. This is just our good deeds for the unfortunate people in malaysia.
dude we organize this event for a good cause. niat pon nak tolong. umno club here has nothing to do with politics. it is a student organization. so dtg la sokong
Dey tambey, ko merepek apa ni? Cuba bagi satu nama charity organisation biasanya boros macam tu... I think DAP can afford to do a mini charity event like this and promote it on junko9 :/ Btw, most Malaysian foreign students knows the local political scene really sucky atm, which motivates them to get a PR over there. Stay unite people!
ya mari2, buagus juga krn duit AUS mesti diexchange, so banyaklah duit yang diterima pusat jugaan kanak2 luar nikah, ataupun yg ibubapanya terlalu miskin, ataupun yg ibubapanya sudah meninggal. kalau buat charity sini biasanya semua duit digembeleng oleh pihak2 x berkenaan yg boros berbelanja utk mercedes, iphone, aruba dll.
karpal: BAGUS! meh jom kite derma la...!!!! bagus la diorg ni buat event jauh2 tolong orang susah...syabas!!!!
selepas befikir lama2: oklah, saya sokong
Wohoooooooo!!! :D
this is what we call doing our part for the society, it does not matter on what organization we go through , it's our intentions. Lets support this cause!
karpal: it's not about the organizer... it's about the event. =)
