Heineken Green Room @ Zouk, KL, MY, 1 Aug

Remember how much fun you had at the last Heineken Green Room in March? Now prepare to take that level of fun and multiply it tenfold with this year’s edition of Heineken Green Room, with its most awesomely kickass lineup yet!

They of "Tupac Robot Club Rock" fame, Filthy Dukes, will be there. The club promoters/DJs-turned-musicians from London have seen their stock raised significantly of late with the thumping success of this year’s debut Nonsense In The Dark, and their ongoing famed DJ set at Fabric, Kill Em All. Plus, they actually own Konrad “Conny” Plank’s original analogue mixing desk, which puts them about 8˚ north of awesome.

They will be joined by Japanese hip hop bigwig Verbal of Teriyaki Boyz and M-Flo, the special collabo between DJs Blink and Goldfish, The Blink and Goldfish Show, as well as ambient Aussie duo Didjital, who will come armed with a didgeridoo!

Heineken Music will also be tying up with a number of independent boutiques in the Klang Valley for the Green Room State Of Mind project, such as Replacement and Sevendays in Bangsar, and MNEP in Subang Jaya. The project aims at producing a series of fashion installations that create the inexorable link between fashion and music.

The designs will then be moved to Zouk for the event proper, where they’ll be featured at a specially created gallery space in Barsonic. And when you get there, you‘ll come face to face with DJ Xu of LapSap and Didjital, who’ll be knocking out some beats on the deck to accompany the installations. 

You have to get yourself invited to participate in the goings-on. So log on to the Heineken Green Room site and get yourself an invite! Remember kids, you have to be 21 or above to attend, abide by Zouk’s rules (which means not being a mong and dressing in your mamak gear) and be there before 11pm, or else normal club rates apply.
