The youngest ever American Idol contestant to make it into the top four, Allison Iraheta has been snapped up by 19 Recordings (licensed to Jive Records). Iraheta was understandably ecstatic, saying that “this whole awesome experience is a dream come true”. Which is a dream she’s had since she was nine (for perspective’s sake, she just turned 17).
As you might expect, the founder and CEO of 19 Recordings is none other than the other Simon, Simon Fuller, creator of the whole Idol leviathan (and by Idol leviathan, we mean the franchise, not the pointy-moobed Simon Cowell; no, a power higher than even Fuller is responsible for that). Obviously, 19 Recordings have also snapped up Idol champ Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert, who will be licensed to Jive and RCA respectively.
Speaking of Lambert, you may have heard that the chunky glam crooner made the cover of the June issue of Rolling Stone. Here are some pictures (for your, ahem, perusal).
