Remember this? We asked for your help in compiling the ultimate driving playlist. It will be the most essential part of your drive home, besides all the routine crap like checking the air in your tyres and packing.

We made it a community thing, and based some of the videos on your suggestions. We said that by the time the holidays came, you'd have a HWY playlist that even Dr. Gonzo would be proud of. He bloody well should be:

The Doors – ‘LA Woman’

A brilliant HWY tune, if only because Jim Morrison was in an arthouse movie called HWY. Might put you in the mood for Vegas instead of whichever backwater commode you’re heading to, though.

Ludacris – ‘Get Out The Way’

This will be played more than most, whether you're on the highway or not. And chances are you do think/shout "move bitch, get out the way" on your daily commute anyway.

Radiohead – ‘The Tourist’

Not the best road song, since it’ll probably make you fall asleep at the wheel. But the sentiment is fitting if you don’t particularly feel welcome at home for whatever reason. Maybe you’re up to no good in the big city. Hey, we're not judging.

Stereophonics – ‘Dakota’

Not the best Stereophonics song by a country mile, but arguably, no other song besides Cardigans ‘My Favourite Game’ is so consciously created for the long highway drive. Maybe it’s got something to do with the video.

See above. This is like an instructional video. On how not to drive on the highway. Or rather how everyone else does drive on the highway.

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals – ‘The End’

Replace the word “Jacksonville” with the name of your kampung [village].

Arcade Fire – ‘Keep The Car Running’

Automobile reference: check. Thumping Bruce Springsteen-circa-Born In The USA beat: check.

AC/DC - 'Highway To Hell'

Self-explanatory, really. Especially if you're not all that fond of your relatives, the type that go "Oh the last time I saw you, you were this small!" You: "Five-year-olds usually are, thicko."

Lynyrd Skynyrd – ‘Free Bird’

This song, bar none, is the quintessential steering-wheel-mock-drumming song.
