'Sink Or Swim' was supposed to be out on the 21st of next month; but since "New Order" are supposed to be playing the Fuel party in Singapore with Bloc Party and Underworld on 24 September, it makes better sense to release this now.
Bad Lieutenant sees New Order's Bernard Sumner and Phil Cunningham (ex-Marion, remember them?) teaming up with someone called Jake Evans. To a lesser degree, they'll also have New Order drummer Stephen Morris and Blur bassist Alex James on board.
As Pitchfork says, it sounds very much like Republic-era New Order. Sumner sings over breezy Afghan Whigs type guitars on 'Sink Or Swim'; but then again, Sumner could work a phone sex hotline and still make it sound like New Order.
