Divine Heresy brainchild Dino Cazares brings in new singer/screamer Travis Neal, and proceeds to up the heaviness and technical prowess on Bringer Of Plagues. So why doesn't any of the songs particularly stick to memory after repeated listening? Somewhere along the journey of crafting the heaviest, fastest and most difficult-to-play songs, DH seem to have gotten lost, and Neal doesn't have his predecessor's vocal presence either. If you're looking for ace musicianship, you'll find plenty that will impress you. For a memorable collection of songs though, Bringer Of Plagues is all bark and no substance.
