Ignore for a second that 66 lucky people picked up a Nokia X6 for RM66 (actual price RM2099) and focus on the awesome show Boys Like Girls put on last Friday at Bukit Kiara Indoor Stadium.

The boys had just flown up from Singapore and they were definitely feeling the pressure. We could literally feel their tiredness, but nonetheless the quartet put on their brave faces as they marched onstage to their adoring crowd. Remember this was after a show the night before, a flight to KL, a press conference, and a gauntlet of interviews with various press members (including Junk, but more on that later)

Blazing their way through a set that included hits like 'The Great Escape', 'LoveDrunk', 'Two Is Better Than One', and 'Thunder', there was no stopping BLG that night. Water bottles were hurled into the crowd. Picks aplenty were thrown. Screaming girls almost broke the barricade. Yes, you heard right. RELA personnel literally had to hold back the barricades for fear that the rabid mass of fangirls would push it over and storm the stage to their idols.

And yet all Boys Like Girls could do was embrace their fans with a fervor that matched the loudest screaming girl in the crowd, culminating in singer Martin climbing into the crowd to sing the end of 'The Great Escape' among his adoring public. The surging mass of teen hormones gathering towards Martin surely must have alarmed the RELA volunteers, as they saw the barricades heave mightily. Yet, the barricades stood the pressure and Boys Like Girls finished their set in style.

With nary an encore in sight as the tired heroes made their way to the back, no one could deny that Boys Like Girls had came, saw, and conquered that night at Bukit Kiara Equestarian Club Indoor Stadium.

And more thorough review with some interview bits will be in our March issue. Wait for it!
