The reason why Britney Spears is here is because Blackout, which she released last year, was a comeback album that revived the popstar's career. After all that crazy stuff that Britney did (including a horrific performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards), it was (almost) forgiven when people heard Blackout.
The Guardian labelled it "a bold, exciting album", Observer Music Monthly said it was the best album of Britney's career and the All Music Guide called it "a state-of-the-art dance-pop" record.
So, Blackout was Britney's life-altering record. At the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, she picked up Video Of The Year, Best Female and Best Pop Video for 'Piece Of Me'. Britney will now release brand new album Circus on 2 December.
