Heineken Green Room ft. Van She, Dexpistols & LapSap @ Zouk KL, 1 Nov

After a long hiatus, Heineken Green Room returns in November with cutting edge sounds from Malaysia, Australia and Japan to ensure music fans have one hell of a party! Previous acts that were featured under the Heineken Green Room banner include Chicks on Speed and Fingathing, billing the Heineken Green Room parties as some of the most exciting events in KL city.

Australia’s Van She headlines this instalment at the newly refurbished Zouk Mainroom. Those lucky enough to catch them in Singapore during the Beatnik Picnic back in July can vouch for Van She’s energy in getting the crowd pumped up and screaming for more. The four-piece band is part of the rising crop of electro bands signed under Modular Recordings, home to Cut Copy, Ladyhawke, New Young Pony Club and the Presets. Van She’s debut album V has been making waves in the electro scene and reached #10 in the ARIA album charts upon its release.

Joining Van She is Tokyo’s Dexpistols, known as the Daft Punk of Japan. DJs Daruma and Maar will be playing in Malaysia for the first time ever; armed with two turntables, three CDJs, mixers and effects boxes, their shows are one-part entertainment, one-part live art and all parts mind-blowing.

LapSap needs no introduction here. The duo of DJs 5 Feet aka Blink and Mr. Puah aka XU recently celebrated their first birthday with a bang. There’s no stopping LapSap and their loyal crowd of eccentric dressers as they invade the Zouk Mainroom to show everyone how a party should be–filled with lots of pizzazz and pogo-ing.

Heineken Green Room promises to be a fun-filled event that encapsulates the current music happenings internationally and locally, so make sure you reserve your place at this party that will go down as one of the best this year. Update (as of 23 Oct): Acclaimed Australian space rockers Van She will be coming onstage to perform their Heineken Green Room headlining set at 11pm sharp at Zouk KL on Saturday 1 November. Guest list and registration for the event will close at 10.30pm, so please arrive early to experience sets from LapSap and Dexpistols, and enjoy exclusively commissioned installation pieces by Bombshelter Studios, KinkyBlueFairy and LapSap as well as special Heineken promotions and giveaways. After 10.30pm, normal Zouk cover charge will apply [RM58 guys, RM45 women (including first drink)].

Zouk KL dress code applies: No round collar t-shirts, football jerseys, shorts, slippers, dark shades or trucker/baseball caps.
