The Junksounds Awards 2008 champions the movers and shakers in music from the past year. Each nomination pits one outstanding artist/group with others representing their respective countries; the five countries involved are Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Phillipines. Nominees are based on artists and groups who have been active in the music scene all of 2008–be it playing gigs or releasing albums. We've consulted with a knowledgeable team of music veterans from around the region to come up with the nominees for each category, and will be picking our favourites come January 2009 when we announce the results in the mag and online!
One of our nomination categories is for Song Of The Year. And to help you along in deciding, here are some listening samples from each nominee:
