Teenage Gig Fantastic @ MCPA Hall, KL, 28 Dec

Arguably Malaysia’s most hardworking independent power pop band, Couple is heading back into the spotlight with their second full-length album Teenage Disc Fantastic.

In their 13-year existence, Couple has slowly amassed strong grassroots following through word of mouth and social networks, culminating in their spot on Rolling Stone’s 25 Best Bands On MySpace list, endorsements by Ken Stringfellow (The Posies) and Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub), and extensive foreign college radio airplay. They’ve impressed greatly with their debut Top Of The Pop and a previous clutch of underground demo/tapes, and their new disc is greatly anticipated.

Couple’s DIY spirit is put to demonstration with their self-organised album release party Teenage Gig Fantastic, where they perform choice cuts from the album. Couple will be supported by some of the scene’s most engaging acts–Bunkface (Malaysia’s latest pop punk sensations), Yuna (singer-songwriter extraordinaire), The Dearly Missed (emo pop glory), The Hollows (Teenage Fanclub obsessives) and The Peanuts (who will also be releasing their debut EP on the same day).

Teenage Gig Fantastic is set to live up to its very name and provide everyone in attendance with an unforgettable few hours’ worth of good ole’ sweaty fun.
