Our inaugural Junk Records campaign came to an end on 28 July. The top five - An Honest Mistake, Ask Me Again, Halfway Kings, Kyoto Protocol and Paid in Fiction - competed live in front of a panel of judges for a RM18,000 recording deal at 101 Studios. Kuala Lumpur's all-day creative fest took place on 26 June over at the beautiful grounds of KLPac! An attack on all senses, Urbanscapes saw music, art, design, fashion and general creativity collide in a 12-hour extravaganza. Here are some photos from the public. SevenCollar T-Shirt's much talked about concert, The Battle Protocol, took place on 21 and 22 May. Held at Pentas 1 at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, the band put on a 2-hour show that featured percussionists, additional guitars, a string section, a pianist, synths, guest vocals from Yuna and lots of ambition. Welsh band Stereophonics make their debut Malaysian appearance on 28 April at KL Live. Playing an immense set that comprised of about 24 songs, the band covered much ground musically, delivering older songs like 'Mr Writer', 'Local Boy in the Photograph' and 'Dakota' as well as new ones of their latest, Keep Calm and Carry On. By Demand: Kings of Convenience was Junk's second show (first being Saosin), in partnership with Soundscape Records. The night was almost like magic, with Erlend and Eirik serenading the crowd with the most serene of harmonies. Supporting act Tenderfist did a massive job as well; they even joined the Kings for the encore, remixing their song 'I'd Rather Dance With You'. MORE
Studio C's finale took place at KL Live on 6 March and saw performances from Pop Shuvit and international act Moving Units and Sundays Record. It also saw the climax for the Battle of the Bands - Once Upon There Was A Sausage Named Bob (yes that's the name of the band) walked away with a cool RM8,000. MORE
Taiwanese superstars Da Mouth dropped by Kuala Lumpur as part of PUMA's Spring/Summer 2010 campaign! They performed a showcase at The Opera, Sunway and then did a fun Meet & Greet with fans at Sunway Pyramid the next day.
