We've finally come to the year-end issue of Junk and it sure is a special one. This month, Junk Gets Hijacked when nine creative captors hold us hostage. You just have to buy the magazine to see what they've done to our pages. And as you can see, even the Junk website has been Hijacked!
Features
This month, our Junk pages get Hijacked as nine intrepid Malaysian talents spring a surprise attack on us and give our pages a complete overhaul. We introduce you to the team of hijackers. Also Junk contributor Shona-Marie gets a private audience with Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance from Avenged Sevenfold as they get introspective on their music and fame. We also get intimate with Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong as he whispers sweet nothings to Junk contributor Reta about the band's latest release Intimacy and that he's half-Malaysian! The Gallagher bros are also looking really good as they get candid about their new album Dig Out Your Soul.
Open Mic
A Vacant Affair rises from the ashes with their latest release Reasons To Leave. We get down at the first annual Asian Hip Hop Festival in Bangkok, and bang heads with Simian Mobile Disco and Boys Noize.
Reviews
We've got the skinny from Heineken Green Room featuring Australian group Van She, Dexpistols from Japan and Malaysia's Lapsap, and we travelled south for some A7X madness and got nostalgic with Motley Crue's assault on the Lion City. Also results are in for new releases from TI, James Morrison, The Killers, John Legend and many more!
Junk Music Compilation
Guitarist of Malaysian band They Will Kill Us All, Edwin Raj, had his way with this month's Junk Music Compilation. Edwin scoured the region for some killer tracks offered by bands such as Malaysia's Killeur Calculateur, Thailand's Brand New Sunset, Seringai from Indonesia and Singaporean indie darlings The Great Spy Experiment.
