February is a time where we look towards the future. This month's issue of JUNK is now on the magazine shelves and we've got predict big things are happening in music this year. And we can bet our left ball on it. For our Music 2.0 issue, we consult our trusty balls and give you five predictions about the future of music and where it’s evidently heading.

We're not just about looks guys, we have brains too and it shows in our features! It starts off with Music 2.0, where we summon the magic 8-ball to predict the future of music. Franz Ferdinand talks to us about vinyl lovin and 50s hairdos and Pharoahe Monch shows us how deep he really is. Indonesia's Andra and The Backbone talk about their hit single, 'Sempurna' and They Will Kill Us All tell us about their latest EP, Secret Episodes. And we're Buzzed with The Bourjuis, a 3-piece band from the northern state of Malaysia, Kedah.

Open Mic
We pay a tiny tribute to two of our favorite Malaysian acts: Too Phat and Butterfingers and get a dose of Zen wisdom from female electro-acoustic duo Rist. O-Two beat the odds to make music the way they want to and talk about their latest album Utusan Rasmi. Pesawat soars to success while post-hardcore quartet get emo with their lyrics on olove and life. Junk Music Compilation
There will be no love songs on this month’s compilation. Boo… But before you shed an emo tear, let us assure you that there are still some pretty good tunes to keep your heart soaring for days. Like Astroninja’s ‘The Bukkake Udon Song’, for instance–which is so full of love pop gooeyness that we just want to pervertedly jump for joy. And if you think that doesn’t instantly give you a sugar high, maybe ‘The Fa La La Song’ by Jack & Rai or ‘Latin Swing’ by The Sallys will. But you can’t be a hyperventilating loon forever, so we keep in mind to wind you down with some meanderings by They Will Kill Us All and soft tinklings by Flica. You’ll thank us for it, for sure.
